- Permits, licenses and clearances are only for checking. Travelers never see them, and we delete the copies after checking.
- You can see, correct or delete your data at any time by emailing us.
01Who this notice is for
This notice covers people who apply to partner with TravelBuddy, partner businesses and their contact persons, and tuk-tuk and tricycle drivers. If you use TravelBuddy as a traveler, the Privacy Policy for travelers applies instead.
02What we collect
- Business details: name, category, location, description, website and social media links, logo and photos.
- Contact person: name, email address and phone number.
- Listing details: prices, open dates, opening hours and what's included.
- Booking requests and your replies, and the bookings that follow.
- Dashboard activity and performance, such as recommendations, views, inquiries and bookings.
- Billing details needed to send statements and collect commission.
- Business documents: business or mayor's permit, DTI or SEC registration, DOT accreditation if you have one, and for boat operators, boat registration and safety papers.
- For drivers: a photo of you, vehicle type and plate number, driver's license, LGU franchise or permit, police or NBI clearance, and rider ratings.
Driver's license numbers count as sensitive personal information under the Data Privacy Act. We process them only with the consent you give when you apply, and only to check that you can safely drive passengers.

- To review and verify your application.
- To show your listing to travelers it fits.
- To send you booking requests by email and text message.
- To show your results in your partner dashboard.
- To prepare statements and collect commission.
- To check driver papers and keep riders safe.
- To improve how TravelBuddy matches travelers and partners.
- To send you partner news and tips, only if you tick the box asking for them. You can opt out anytime.
04What travelers see
Travelers see your public listing: business name, category, location, photos, prices, description, ratings and the Partner tag. For drivers, travelers see your first name, photo, vehicle and rating. Travelers never see your license, permits or clearance documents. Your direct contact details are shared with a traveler once a booking is confirmed.
05Who helps us run TravelBuddy
We work with trusted service providers for hosting, email, text messages, maps and payments. They use your information only to run TravelBuddy for us. Some are located outside the Philippines. We never sell your personal data.
06How long we keep it
- Applications that aren't approved: up to 12 months.
- Partner and listing data: while you're a partner. Your listing is removed within 30 days after the partnership ends.
- Copies of permits, licenses and clearances: we check them, keep only what we need (such as expiry dates and the last 4 digits of license numbers), and delete the copies within 30 days of checking.
- Billing records: as long as Philippine tax and accounting rules require.
07Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to access your data, to object, to have it corrected, to have it erased or blocked, to data portability, and to claim damages. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).
08How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit. Documents are stored with restricted access until they're deleted, and only the people who verify partners can open them.
09Changes to this notice
If we make an important change, we'll email you before it takes effect.
