01Who we are
TravelBuddy PH ("TravelBuddy", "we", "us") runs the TravelBuddy website and app, an AI travel companion for trips in the Philippines. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at [email protected].
02What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google profile name and photo.
- Trip details and preferences: destinations, dates, budget, who you travel with, and what you enjoy.
- Your conversations: the messages and voice recordings you send to TravelBuddy, and its replies.
- Location: only when you allow it, to answer questions like what's nearby or what the weather is where you are.
- Expenses you log, including the amount, currency and category.
- Payment records: what you bought and when. Card and wallet details are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
- Basic technical data: device type, browser, and error logs that help us keep the service working.

- To answer your questions and build and adjust your trip plans.
- To personalize recommendations to your budget, group and style.
- To run your budget and expense tools.
- To send account, trip and billing emails or messages.
- To process payments and manage your plan.
- To match travelers with partners that fit, and to pass on booking or availability requests you choose to send.
- To keep TravelBuddy safe and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To improve TravelBuddy, using summarized or de-identified data wherever we can.
- To send you trip ideas and offers, only if you tick the box asking for them. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
04Who helps us run TravelBuddy
We work with trusted service providers for hosting, AI, voice, maps, weather, email and payments. They use your information only to run TravelBuddy for us, never for their own purposes. Some of them are located outside the Philippines. If you'd like the current list, email us and we'll send it.
06How long we keep it
- Account, trip and expense data: while your account is active, and deleted within 30 days after you delete your account.
- Voice recordings: kept only as long as needed to process and replay them, and no longer than 90 days.
- Payment records: as long as Philippine tax and accounting rules require.
07Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to access your data, to object, to have it corrected, to have it erased or blocked, to data portability, and to claim damages. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).
08How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to the database is limited by user-level security rules, so each account can only reach its own records. Only people who need access to run TravelBuddy have it.
09Age
TravelBuddy is for people 18 and older. Younger travelers should use it with a parent or guardian.
10Changes to this policy
If we make an important change, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
